About Me

Kirin Kennedy, alum of The Pennsylvania State University where she studied Geography and Climatology, is an advocate for social and Environmental justice. Kirin has had the blessing and opportunity to combine her love of community by working at some of the United States most notable non-profits. Which include the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the United States Students Association (USSA) and many more organizations in the areas of educational access and affordability, civic engagement and, leadership development. In Kirin's spare time when she's not working on a campaign or working with student leaders across the country Kirin is volunteering her time with various environmental organizations, as she believes that we should all be able to eat, sleep pray and play in a clean and healthy environment.  Miss Kennedy, will spend her  year long reign as Miss Maryland International 2014, as an Ambassador for the Environmental Justice and Climate Change Initiative (EJCC) where she will work to raise awareness of the impact of Climate Change on under-served communities and advocating for more sustainable practices locally and abroad.
